CoreWeave enters India, planning 240 MW as sole tenant at AdaniConneX's Navi Mumbai campus
CoreWeave plans 240 MW across three buildings at AdaniConneX's Navi Mumbai campus, with NVIDIA Vera Rubin and first capacity expected in mid-2028.
On 7 October CoreWeave, the AI cloud company, announced it is entering India. Working with AdaniConneX, a data center joint venture of Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX, CoreWeave plans 240 MW of capacity at AdaniConneX's Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai.
What is planned. The campus will have three 80 MW buildings, and CoreWeave will be the only tenant. It plans to run NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform there. The first phase is expected to be ready in mid-2028, with the rest coming online in stages. CoreWeave also has the option to double the site by adding up to 240 MW more, and it plans to open an office in India and hire locally.
How big this is. CoreWeave said it had about 4.2 GW of contracted power as of its 11 August earnings call. India is a country where CoreWeave had no sites before.
Why we file it. CoreWeave is already green on the map, most recently for putting NVIDIA Vera Rubin into production on 30 September. This is a confirmed plan for new capacity, in the same class as other capacity deals we track, such as Nebius's 50 MW lease. CoreWeave stays green. AdaniConneX is not on the map, so no new link is added.
How we read it. Meaningful. The announcement comes from CoreWeave itself and the size and sole-tenant role are clear. But no lease length, spending, chip count or customer was disclosed, and the first power is almost two years away.
What would change this. Signed customer contracts for the India capacity, or a disclosed lease term and spending, would firm it up. A delay past mid-2028 would weaken it.
What this evidence does not establish
CoreWeave says it plans the deployment; it did not disclose lease terms, contract length, spending, chip counts or customers. First capacity is expected in mid-2028 and the rest comes online in stages. The extra 240 MW is an option, not a commitment. AdaniConneX has not published its own statement. Share-price moves are excluded.
What to watch next
- Customer contracts named for the India capacity
- Any disclosed lease term or spending for the Taloja campus
- Construction progress toward the mid-2028 first phase
- Whether CoreWeave takes up the option for another 240 MW
