BRIEFINGS
What just moved the map, and why it matters.
Every briefing takes one dated, sourced event from the AI economy and explains it the way the map does:
what happened, which companies it touches, what the evidence establishes — and, just as important, what it does not.
About these dates. Each briefing is headed by the date of the event it explains, because
that is the date that matters for reading the evidence. The first 5 briefings were written and published
together when this section launched on 23 September 2026, covering the month before it; everything published since
carries its own date. We would rather say that than backdate a page and ask you to trust dates on a site whose whole argument
is that claims should be checkable.

Contracted backlog up $209 billion year on year, cloud infrastructure revenue up 121%, capital spending of $28.5 billion and free cash flow of minus $5.4 billion. Both halves are the story, which is why the map calls it mixed.

Revenue doubled, data-center revenue rose 117%, and next quarter is guided to $108 billion. The interesting question is not how big the number is. It is which companies had to exist for it to happen.
