GDS raises its 2026 revenue and capex guidance as committed data center area grows

GDS reported second-quarter revenue of RMB3.09 billion on 13 August and raised its 2026 revenue guidance to RMB12.7 billion to RMB13.0 billion.

On 13 August 2026 GDS reported second-quarter net revenue of RMB3,088.0 million, up 6.5% from a year earlier, and total area committed and pre-committed of 784,802 sqm at 30 June, up 18.2% on the year. It raised 2026 revenue guidance to RMB12,700 million to RMB13,000 million from RMB12,400 million to RMB12,900 million, adjusted EBITDA guidance to RMB5,900 million to RMB6,100 million, and capex guidance to about RMB10,000 million from about RMB9,000 million. Chief executive William Huang said the company is "very excited about the opportunities in China ahead of us, driven mainly by AI demand." We file this because it is a company-reported result with hard figures. How we read it: the China data center operator reports more space under contract and higher guidance, though gross profit fell on higher utility costs. What would change this: lower bookings or a guidance cut. Why it matters to you: it shows demand for AI data center space in China is large enough for an operator to lift its spending plan.

What this doesn't prove

Company-reported figures in renminbi. No conversion was done. Guidance is a forecast. The release says second-quarter gross profit fell 3.6% on higher utility costs. Net income of RMB837.6 million was mainly driven by a dilution gain on its DayOne funding.
