AMD says it will put $1 billion into Meta's new stock offering

AMD says it will put $1 billion into Meta's new stock offering, the second chipmaker after NVIDIA to turn interest into a stated amount.

AMD says it will put $1 billion into Meta's new stock offering. That makes it the second chip supplier in two days to name an amount, after NVIDIA said $3 billion.

AMD made the announcement in a release about its Meta partnership. The release is headed "AMD and Meta Advance Strategic Partnership to Power Meta's Superintelligence Infrastructure" and says initial AMD Helios rack systems are installed and being tested at Meta.

In sports terms, it is like a team's equipment maker taking a piece of the franchise while the team raises money for a bigger stadium. AMD and Meta announced an agreement on 24 February 2026 for Meta to deploy up to 6 gigawatts of AMD GPUs.

The bigger picture is that two chip suppliers, NVIDIA and AMD, have now named amounts for one customer's offering. At launch, Meta said NVIDIA, AMD and Broadcom together indicated interest, not binding on any of them, in up to $5.0 billion of the new common stock. Meta has not said whether AMD's $1 billion sits inside that figure.

What would change this read: Broadcom naming its own amount, or Meta's settlement filings showing a different size for AMD's stake.

What this doesn't prove

AMD gives no share count, price or settlement date. Common stock cash in Meta's offering arrives on forward settlement, by 19 November 2027. Broadcom has not stated an amount. Share-price moves excluded.
