Lambda closes a $926 million loan secured on GPU servers for a committed customer

Lambda said on 27 August it closed a $926 million term loan to purchase GPUs for a committed customer, graded Baa2 by Moody's.

On 27 August 2026 Lambda said it had closed a $926 million senior secured term loan B that matures on 31 December 2030 and is priced at SOFR plus 3.00%. Lambda said the money will fund the purchase and deployment of GPU infrastructure for a committed customer deployment with a top-tier credit customer, and that Moody's graded the loan Baa2. The loan is secured on the GPU servers it funds and their cash flows. Lambda called it the first broadly syndicated, top-tier credit rated term loan B by a private neocloud, and said it expects to return to this market. It did not name the customer. We file this because the company ties the loan to specific AI computing deployments. How we read it: Lambda can raise large sums against signed customer contracts. What would change this: a customer problem that cuts the cash flows backing the loan. Why it matters to you: AI chip rental firms fund growth with debt backed by customer contracts, which shapes how fast capacity appears.

What this doesn't prove

Company press release. The customer is not named and no chip count or megawatt size is given. Lambda says Moody's rated the loan Baa2. Pricing and the 'first' claims are Lambda's own. The loan adds fixed repayment obligations.
