Equinix and CPP complete their US$4 billion atNorth acquisition

Equinix and CPP said on 2 September they completed the US$4 billion atNorth data center deal, with Equinix holding about 34% for US$895 million.

On 2 September 2026 Equinix and CPP said they had completed the US$4 billion acquisition of atNorth, a Nordic data center developer and operator with eight operational data centers, which they agreed on 27 February 2026. After Partners Group put money back in for about 10%, CPP holds about 51% committing US$1.3 billion, Equinix about 34% committing US$895 million, and Partners Group about 10% committing US$260 million. The release says a US$4.1 billion financing package supports the deal, and Equinix says it is immediately accretive to its adjusted funds from operations per share. We file this because it is a completed, company-confirmed deal with hard figures. How we read it: Equinix has added Nordic capacity with a partner, holding a smaller stake than first announced. What would change this: delays at atNorth's new projects. Why it matters to you: it shows data center operators are buying capacity that the release says is meant to serve AI, cloud and high-performance computing workloads.

What this doesn't prove

Company statements. Equinix's stake is about 34%, down from about 40% in the 27 February announcement after Partners Group put money back in. The accretion claim is Equinix's own.
