Tower and Semtech expand a SiGe capacity agreement for AI data center connections
Tower Semiconductor and Semtech agreed to reserve more factory capacity for chips that connect AI data center equipment with light and copper.
On 13 October 2026 Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli chip maker, and Semtech, a US chip designer, announced a multi-year agreement that expands dedicated silicon germanium capacity for Semtech across Tower's fabs in the United States, Israel and Japan. The chips are used in optical and copper links that move data inside AI data centers. The companies did not disclose financial terms, wafer volumes or a timeline (Tower SEC filing, 13 October 2026, and Converge Digest).
