Digital Realty enters Türkiye with a joint venture and a 22 MW Ankara campus

Digital Realty and Rönesans Infrastructure announced a Türkiye joint venture on 14 September, starting with an Ankara data center of more than 22 MW.

On 14 September 2026 Digital Realty and Rönesans Infrastructure announced a joint venture to develop and operate data centers in Türkiye. The first funding is an Ankara campus designed to support more than 22 megawatts of carrier-neutral IT capacity, with land, power and permitting secured, early construction started and completion scheduled for 2028. The venture also plans an additional data center in Istanbul. The release says the venture is supporting rising demand for cloud, AI and enterprise digital infrastructure. We file this because it is a company-confirmed project with a hard capacity figure. How we read it: Digital Realty is entering a new country through a local partner, with a modest first campus. What would change this: construction delays or the project not proceeding. Why it matters to you: it shows a large data center company is still adding new countries to its network.

What this doesn't prove

Company announcement. The 22 MW figure is design capacity, not capacity in service. The release gives no funding amount, ownership split or customer names, and the Istanbul facility is a plan. Rönesans's own page, not Digital Realty's release, says the partnership is expected to reach 200 MW over the long term, funding potential of up to US$3 billion, and names the Ankara site as Temelli.
