Eaton agrees to acquire Italian power-equipment maker COL Group for €810 million

Eaton said on 25 September it will acquire Italy's COL Group for an enterprise value of €810 million, adding European data center and utility power capacity.

On 25 September 2026 Eaton announced an agreement to acquire COL Group, an Italian maker of medium-voltage switchgear, grid automation and modular power systems, from Oaktree for an enterprise value of €810 million. Eaton says COL Group has forecasted sales of €250 million for 2027. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027. We file this because it is a company-confirmed deal with hard figures. How we read it: Eaton is acquiring European factories and products aimed at data centers and utilities. What would change this: a regulatory block or the deal not closing. Why it matters to you: it shows makers of electrical equipment are spending heavily to add capacity for data centers.

What this doesn't prove

Announced agreement, not a completed deal. It needs regulatory approvals and customary conditions. The 2027 sales figure is COL Group's forecast as stated by Eaton.
