Supermicro, which builds the server racks that AI chips live in, gave a preliminary, unaudited estimate for the quarter that ended 30 September. The company estimates revenue of $18.5bn to $19.5bn, against its own forecast of $14.5bn to $15.5bn, "primarily due to increased demand for AI platforms." That is vs $15.23bn expected, LSEG consensus as reported by Reuters (Reuters, 20 Oct 2026). The low end of $18.5bn is about 21% above the $15.23bn expected, by our arithmetic. Gross margin, the share of each sales dollar left after the cost of making the product, is estimated at 12.0% to 12.5%, against a forecast of 10.4% to 10.8%. This is an unaudited estimate that can still change. Full results come Tue 3 Nov. Why it matters to you: when the rack builders run ahead of their own forecast, it shows AI spending kept rolling this season. Filing: Super Micro Computer 8-K, filed 20 Oct 2026
