Quanta Services is a large North American specialty contractor that designs, builds and maintains electric transmission and distribution lines, substations, power generation and underground utility infrastructure, plus electrical and mechanical work on large facilities.

AI data centers need new grid connections, transmission and on-site power, and Quanta is one of the main contractors utilities hire to build that capacity; it says it is expanding capabilities for data center and mission-critical facility markets.

Utilities, power producers and large industrial and technology customers pay it to engineer, procure and construct electric and energy infrastructure, largely under project and long-term service contracts.
