AI systems generate and keep huge amounts of data, and most of the world's bulk data-center storage still sits on hard drives; Seagate's CEO said in its fiscal 2026 results that AI is accelerating data generation and cited strong cloud data center demand. It does not make AI chips or memory used directly in computation.
Hyperscale cloud providers, enterprises and consumers pay it for hard drives and related storage products.
