What it does

Nanya Technology is a Taiwanese maker of DRAM memory chips, including DDR5, DDR4, DDR3 and low-power LPDDR memory, and memory modules. It is part of Taiwan's Formosa Plastics Group.

Why it matters

AI servers need large amounts of conventional DRAM alongside high-bandwidth memory, and Nanya said AI infrastructure and server applications made up more than 20% of its revenue in the first half of 2026. In 2026 NAND and storage makers including Sandisk, Kioxia and an SK hynix subsidiary took equity stakes in it to help secure DRAM supply.

How it makes money

Electronics makers, server builders and module makers pay it for DRAM chips and memory modules.
