Wayve is the main non-American challenger in general-purpose driving models, and its investor list includes three carmakers plus Uber, which is unusual for an autonomy startup. Its claim to have driven in more than 500 cities without city-specific preparation is the company's own, and vehicles carrying its software have not yet shipped to customers at scale.
Automakers and fleet operators are expected to license its driving software; it is pre-commercial and funded by venture and strategic capital.
