Skild is trying to be the operating layer for other people's robots rather than a robot maker, and it has signed integration agreements with established arm makers including ABB Robotics and Universal Robots. That is a different bet from the humanoid startups: if it works, the value sits in the model rather than the hardware.
Robot manufacturers and industrial operators are expected to license or deploy its model; the company is at an early commercial stage and has raised very large amounts of capital.
