AI accelerators increasingly depend on advanced packaging that joins GPUs or custom chips to high-bandwidth memory, and ASE (with its SPIL unit) is one of the few companies outside TSMC with that capability at scale; it is a member of TSMC's 3DFabric Alliance for advanced packaging.
Chip companies and foundries pay it for packaging, assembly and test services, and electronics brands pay its USI unit for contract manufacturing.
